I'm sure we all have songs we love, that can rescue us from a disasterous mood. My experience with this is simply from when im at work. Ive got a cock-gobbler for a boss ( well not a boss but a second in command ) and evey time he pisses me off i simply turn on the mp3 player and do whatever it is that im supposed to be doing.

I carry the player at all times but only listen to it when he comes in with his 'holier than thou' attitude. calms me right down and i can get back to what im suposed to be doing. If there were a way to inject liquid music directly into my veins, I'd be the first one in line.

I understand what you mean man.. I bring my mp3 player to work with me every day. I turn it on when I'm doing prep and within seconds I go from lethargic and half-asleep to upbeat and energetic. And when I'm in a bad mood, I go climb a tree and listen to it too. Music is the greatest mediator between you and reality.

alot of early 90's hip hop has a certain vibe about it that puts me in a good mood after a shitty day at the salt mine.(T.C.Q,Jurrasic5,Pharcyde etc.)

That and the good old Blues. Listening to some Buddy Guy or just jamming out on my harmonica works wonders!

misic deffinatly does sooth the soul. If i could bring it to work with me i would. But i do bring it to skool with me on days that i dont have lectures. makes the day go by so much quicker <3

when i say "holier than thou" i mean he blames me for shit i dont do... blames me for shit he did... constantly undermines my confidence in my own work... and essentailly is a dick. he doesnt actually have any power over me, but all he does is make you feel like an asshole untill you do what he says. Everyone at my work sees this, and they all know that he does nothing but dog fuck all day, but nothing gets done aboot it.

i wish i had the chance to listen to more music that would make my day go by smoother, a work enviroment that encourages top 40's isnt always my best friend... and i've decided i need a bigger ipod or mp3 thing. but as for my music of choice: thievery corp seems to make the stress melt away as of late and the cheesy florida breaks never fail to put a smile on my face no matter what kind of a mood im in.

Whoa, sounds like you got some issues with your boss, and no, i didnt open this thread because the alliteration caught my eye, why poll it?

As for what kind of music calms me down... hmm, lately ive been listening to alot of japanese jazz, it sounds weird but its actually very calming, not that my lifestyle is full of stress, but its been perfect chillin-at-home-while-its-raining music.

OCremixes are also relaxing, but maybe its just the nostalgia factor

I usually listen to some dnb to relax myself most of the time. Sometimes I pull out some old hindi records and play them. If its a really bad day, i just drown myself into the music for sometimes hours.
