There are other human time bombs, primed in haste, ignorance or indifference to long-term consequences. Amid all the finger-pointing to causes prompting the recent wave of schoolyard killings, not nearly enough clamor has been raised about the fact that many of these teenagers suddenly exploding into mania were on a regimen of antidepressants. Eric Harris, one of the shooters at Columbine, was on Luvox. Kip Kinkel, who killed his parents and two students in Oregon, was on Prozac.

There are a number of other instances. Apropos possible linkage, Dr. Peter Breggin, author of books on Prozac and Ritalin, has said, "I have no doubt that Prozac can contribute to violence and suicide. I've seen many cases. In the recent clinical trial, 6% of the children became psychotic on Prozac. And manic psychosis can lead to violence."

A 15-year-old girl attending a ritzy liberal arts school in the Northeast told me that 80% of the kids in her class were on Prozac, Ritalin or Dexedrine. The pretext used by the school authorities is attention deficit disorder or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, with a diagnosis made on the basis of questions such as: "Do you find yourself daydreaming or looking out the window?"

Ritalin is being given to about 2 million American schoolchildren. A 1986 article by Richard Scarnati in the International Journal of the Addictions lists more than a hundred adverse reactions to Ritalin, including paranoid delusions, paranoid psychosis, amphetamine-like psychosis and terror. Meanwhile, uncertainty reigns on the precise nature of the complaint that Ritalin is supposed to be treating. One panel reviewing the proceedings at a conference on ADHD last year even doubted whether the disorder is a "valid" diagnosis of a broad range of children's behavior, and said there was little evidence Ritalin did any good. In 1996, the Drug Enforcement Administration denounced the use of Ritalin and concluded that "the dramatic increase in the use of Ritalin in the 1990s should be viewed as a marker or warning to society."

Indeed. Land mines now litter the terrain of our society, waiting to explode.

So does anyone have any friends who went psychotic after they were given ADD meds or SSRIs or even benzodiazepines (tranquilizers)? And never got better so they had to go on anti-psychotics just to ensure they'd be another landmine?

So why did you abandon them? Was it because they got violent and hurt you? Or stalked you?

The truth is, had they not been given mind control drugs, which the psychiatric medication are, they probably would have gone into remission permanently in some cases.

But usually the root of most mental disorders is not all genetics; most of it is due to childhood abuse.

However, most of us as kid were oblivious to that until we met our first bully in high school. In most cases of bullies, their first experience with violent began at home.

So what is the government's response to childhood abuse? The destruction of a dysfunctional family unit by removal of all children at-risk.

My family is at least intact; I don't have divorced parents. Perhaps some of you do, but that's ok, because not all parents hit their kids.

Even so, the breakdown of the family unit began in the 1960s. At the start of it were some really creepy military people who went back to the universities to ruin the lives of American young adults.

Mind control exists. This is why the Ministry of Addictions and Mental Health does not treat mild cases of mental disorder, not because they actually wish to help people but because an addict is easier to control than someone not on those drugs.

The actual purpose of illegal drugs is to weed out the potential psychotics for later mind control.

But it begins when one first has to visit a psychiatrist: in my case the shrink asked me a bunch of questions and thenhad the audacity to consider if I had schizophrenia. Not all schizophrenias are genetic; most of them depend on the psychiatrists. As well, not all schizotypies end up in psychosis. You need to lose a lot of sleep to get there.

Now, that kind of priming is pretty crafty, but I've been wary of psychiatrists since about the mid-80s when a psychologist working for the old Mental Health ministry used to treat me, without drugs. Today, he'd never treat me without medication!

So it is true: drugs are bad, but psychiatric medications are the worse.

And I am really glad my GP never filled that prescription in 1991, because I avoided what my medicated friends had to endure. It makes true the saying that sometimes, life is indeed a living hell.

However, let me add more to this: the previous post about the different paths my drug addled friend and I took is a story, for the friend does not exist. However, it lines out my path truthfully, because it's a mythological story, which means it contains a secret truth.

on a serious note I've been pretty horrified/disappointed to see how many people are diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed Ritalin. in a lot of cases hyper active children are a simple product of a bad diet. they pump themselves full of processed foods and sugar all day. then for some reason they get hyper... rather than making sure these kids, who don't know any better, eat a proper diet we say they have a disease and give them drugs to take.

ADHD is "characterized by a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity, as well as forgetfulness, poor impulse control or impulsivity, and distractibility." I want to know what child doesn't meet this criteria? they try and make it sound all evil and shit but really they're just talking about normal kids that get excited and are curious.

Jenai, psychologists aren't allowed to perscribe drugs. Only psychiatrists are because they're the ones with Medical Degrees.
