monday night.

friends from my old job call me up and invite me to the foggy dew in coquitlam.

that should've been the first sign of trouble.

anyways I head down there to say hi, and first my brother and i are asked to wait in "the line" the line consists of zero people. six people exit the bar and we still wait.

now we're id'd and brought to the lovely coat check. genesis monkey informs me i have to check my hoodie. no problem. i take it off and proceed to check my hoodie. then patron "a" walks by wearing a hoodie. I ask why this person doesn't have to check his hoodie.

genesis monkey says "he's special."

"i'm special too, so i'll just wear mine."

"no you gotta check it."

"how come that guy didn't have to check his hoodie?"

"he's been here awhile."

"its cause i'm brown right?"

"why you gotta give me attitude?"

"why aren't you letting me into your pub?"

"its a club/bar."

"yeah. no its not."

"you can just leave."

"i wanna talk to your manager."

"he's gonna say the same thing."

"i dont care, go get him."

"i'm too busy."

"i'll just keep my hoodie and come in then."

blah this post turned out longer then I thought....anyways i walk in to find shitty hip hop blaring through a shitty sound system, being played by a shoes in the dryer shitty dj, and a room full of suburbanites that think an irish pub in the middle of the burbs is a great place to go and "get jiggy wit it" na na na na na.

If you know Abbotsford at all you know there is ZERO nightlife, besides the stuff you make happen on your own.

Cheers is a delightful little hole that all the hardcores like to come to, and it really is the place, where everybody knows your name.

In past years Cheers is "bumpin" on a Thursday night or Canuck game night...but recently its popularity has increased. Now there's actually a line up to get in, you can make a guestlist. ITS LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AME! lol

This weekend somebody curb stomped some dude outside of there and he died, and there were sooo many witnesses.

Fuckin Abbotsford for ya...why do (a good chunk) of people here act like they are the shit and think they are so important. I want to move from this shithole asap.

First time, whatever, it was a bar, nothing special.

Second time, they tried to charge cover. I laughed, and ended up going to a great little bar in New West.
