On Canada Day, Susan, who asked her last name not be used, watched two men return to their car in a lot at Davie and Cardero streets. She asked why the men had parked there.

As a response, the passenger tore into her verbally and then slammed her car door against her prosthetic leg causing an injury.

"It's crazy what people do. The rage that people have over nothing," said the 46-year-old. "I kept thinking what if it was somebody else who is more vulnerable than I am."
