Count to 4 eight times... lol I'm just learning from Superstar DJ PPCock myself. You should be able to figure out the basics pretty quick. Then like anything it's just practice practice practice.

learn the "feel" of the vinyl....

be sensitive, relax and just figure out ways to touch the vinyl where you dont nudge too hard that you're outta control

even if you are NOT Djing at the time,,, still count your beats... it's odd because some time down the road your brain will count them with out you knowing... you just know when 8bars of 4beats, or 32 of 4 beats end and start with out thinking.

Heck it's also killer for dancing also.

Try and do longer mixes.. they sound a lot better and keep the crowd going. The isn't so much intro or outro in them.

Personally I find trance easier to start off with because for one the songs are longer and two they have a steady constant bass line. It's just easier to beat match to me.

Oddly enough I found house easy to learn because the fills give a lot of clues where you are in the track.

I learned to beat match with industrial though,,, kick snare kick snare, just worked for me.
