Most Disturbing Book Ever

So yeah i have read this book for my exam in 8 hours.. for criminology... i had like 3 months to read it.. it's called Stolen life: The Journey of Cree Woman.. so i started to read it and i was like whatever, it's just some indian girl who gets abused... most detailed, intense book of raping, beatings and abuse that one girl will ever fucking take. It's brutal, i cant believe how intense reading a fucking book is.. she gets abused.. sexually and physically by her brothers, her father, grandpa, random people, the police, her brother is apparently dead because of suicide although thye belive it's a scandal that the police pulled, she has a fucked up face when she was born, her life was split apart and she had to go thru liek 50 surgeries with 200+ stiches, she got raped by her grandpa when she was four and he was 90, all of her sisters got like gang raped and raped, wherever they went, she had to hide in her basement from her dad and barcade it, first time she drinks, she gets drugged by a friend she meets and she tells 6 indians to rape her, mom constantly tells her she gets raped due to her own stupidity. Good god man, explosion overload. i guess this is why i never read fucking books cuz they make me want to blarf even when they suck. Good gawd man. Good read but far too fucking intense.. yes im a pussy. Im sick to my stomach.. someone hold my hair.

keep in mind this is non fiction and this woman is in jail for murdering someone right now.

no the situation was.. she was living in a racist white town right.. and she's an indian. She murdered some guy that her cousin said was talking about touching her kids unappropriate... problem with her cousin is.. she's unreliable.. she's a shady character.. None of the people who fucked her over got due justice. The grandfather died, the brother who raped her is fucked up as shit, her dad is i think maybe dead? i dont recollect..

oops i wrote she had a split life.. i mean split lip... her lip was just split part up to her upper lip.. so it was like nothing but a big crack there..

I don't think I could stand to read a book like that... I can't imagine what it would be like to live a life like that... not sure that I want to...

My friend is in crim @ sfu too. I remember when we were at sfu to study for midterms one year, she was reading us out all these deviant cases of serial murderers and what not... creepy stuff.

but what do you guys learn from these extreme cases? Why do your profs insist that you read these things?

It depends on what you want to do with a crim degree, but the whole point is to understand deviant aspects of society and comprehend it.

I was in criminology but i wont pursue it. it's ultimately too disturbing and i don't want to be messed up for life.

edit: the only thing i learned form criminology is that our justice system is fucked up and too politicized. Whatever happened to the Tower of London????
