there should be a little button with an M in it in the upper right corner of the black screen.....try clicking on that or just inside the black screen

its because the pieces arent arranged right gia. there has to be a little space for the lock thing to move out.

its active, but until the lock mechanism has room to slide through your pieces, it wont open.

after typing in quest, click between the two images. the letters spell out a word.

type that word and the door to your right will open

try a different way of organizing them. the smallest piece in the upper left corner.
