Akeel
With a music career now spanning more than a decade, this traditionally trained percussionist has brought his unique blend of tribal & indian rhythms to the world of beats and breaks. Fusing nu-skool breaks, progressive house and asian underground, all while drumming new beats and loops on the fly, you can't help but stare as he mixes with one hand and drums out a new beat with another. Akeel's Live PA brings a unique element that fuses live percussion with top quality mixing talent, having played with the likes of JDS, Max Graham, Atomic Hooligan, Sharaz, the Planet of the Drums tour (Dieselboy, AK1200, Dara), Mad Knob Technicians, Klute, Sage, DJ Swamp, Big League Chu, DJ Rap, Dig-Dug and many others.
Dennydub
He began studying music at age 5 playing the piano, trumpet, and bass. For 7 years now he has been producing and performing live breaks and electronic music using a Roland 505 and a sampler. In 1997 Dennydub began spinning House music and instantly fell in love. Since then he has played along side of Dj's like Grooverobber, Noodlez, Leanne, and Ali, just to name a few. The Dennydub style is not your garden variety House. Growing up at the EARLY raves and Full Moon parties in Vancouver, topped off by his Jazz influences, created a style that can only be described as funky-trippy-tribal with a hint of dub. That's the Dennydub style.
Getting the night going early will be Victoria's newest Breaks DJ, DJ Choppy.
