Apex was free for the first two years because the owner of Swing Kids Entertainment PAID for the show out of his OWN POCKET.
After the second year, this was not a viable option anymore so the show rights were sold to G-House productions. They started charging the $10 admission. This year the show is back in the hands of Swing Kids, with the help of Twisted Productions. The reality is Apex doesn't make much, if any profit. What is made, is split between the stage promoters equally. The show is about a group of promoters and djs coming together to showcase their talents. It is not about money hungry promoters looking to gouge partiers. If that was the case, tickets would be $20, $30 or $40 and up. This is still a show for the people -- and I'm sure there are people out there who realize and appreciate this, despite what I've seen in this forum.

i understand the logistics of your intentions.
i'm just saying that apex used to be a party (in my opinion, and what i gathered from everyone else at the previous apex projects prior to apex 2000), actually more of a 'festival' for promoters to give something back to the partykids who've thrown so much $$$ into their ventures so far. i remember at apex '98, asking someone why i didn't have to pay.. he said "cuz this is your fucken party man"... *sob*

im not going to bother arguing with you. obviously you have your motives for trashing apex and swing kids.

Hi this is Salim - owner of Swingkids Entertainment.
all I have to say is that I put my heart into this party when it started. I had to step out for a bit and take care of myself and payback the money I lost the first few years. I am back and ready to party and bring the party back to the way it should be. My goal is to make the party free again. At this point I cannot afford pay for it. If you would like to pay for it, I would be happy to let you and have a free show again. Otherwise, just pay your $10 and have a great time at an all night party and support your local dj's and promoters. Or you can read about the good time everyone else had after the show. Either way I will be having a great time at one of my favorite shows ever. PS.This year there will be lasers on site and some other special fx. $10 is peanuts...
We plan on having a stage as well and don't mind investing a little $$ on it. The idea behind apex is uniting a smorgasbord of promoters on one stretch of land. There's no sense in taking sides or arguing over a party that runs the cost of a happy meal and a doob. Support the concept and dance in front of the stages u adore :)....

Apex is gonna be a wickid ass party and i really cant wait for it...
but i dont get why anyone would be complaining about $10 for it yes so it use to be free shit is different it is not so cheap any more for all the stuff people expect at a party i didnt read all tha replys on here cause i figured it was a waste of time and really none of my business i juss dont get how anyone could think the promoters are greedy cause they are chargin $10 for such a big show oh well have a great one peace
