hope u guys drop some coin down at your local Legion for these poor struggling, forgotten heroes :) If u make some $$ off this type of thing plz don't bank every dime. I got my poppy on. For anyone interested in paying respect to the many vets, there's a special ceremony at the park across the street from bassix (hastings & cambie) on Monday or Sunday at 11:00am. Rain or shine. I actually had this discussion today about how many of us have forgotten the purpose of this holiday. Most people go out shopping or are shaking off a hangover. It kind of bothers me that people don't have 5 mins out of there day to truly respect those who fought for this country in the days of old. Many vets these days are struggling (financially), still have nightmares on a regular basis and tremble at the sound of boom cars or firecrackers. I'm making an effort to drop by a legion or go down for the actually ceremony. Do i want a medal for doing so? No, I think the real medals have already been handed out.
