Olympic Party - ON ROBSON STREET THIS SUNDAY!

Okay... here's the update :hehe:

I work on the 1100 block of Robson, which is inbetween Bute and Thurlow. Now infront of us will be the Bobsled Setup and to the left of that is the Z95.3 crew, and to the right of that is the Beat. To the left of the Z crew, is the Street Stage, and further to the left is the Kiddie Corner which includes a Mini Skating Rink

To the right of the Beat... we have the Ski Jump and I believe you can participate in this, as well as, the Bobsled event.

There will be performers continuously on the Street Stage, and there will be TONS of things to do throughout the day. *wink wink* - visiting the crew blasting the sick breakz & house at Bluenotes!! :moon:

*Note*: Robson will be blocked off most of the day, so you will have to find parking near the outer ends. This includes the back alleys. Please do not park there if you are not authorized, cuz your car will NOT be there when you return.

If there is something I've missed, I'll update it tomorrow...

Thanks so much for posting this Cece... Well, as you can see this is gonna be something totally out of the ordinary for Robson street... actually for Vancouver in general! I think it's hilarious that the Z95 van is parked outside Bluenotes so in that case, I think it's all about showing them what "REAL" music is!

Seeing as the party on robson is supposed to be a family type thing. Meant to add home town spirit, and build a sence of proudness for being a vancouver citizen....

Ahhhh... keep in mind that given the expected turn-out, I would imagine that the Vancouver police will be around in MASS! -- Lets make sure to not cause any sort of scene either in or outside of Bluenotes or that would shut things down all together which would suck.

I agree that it is bad idea as well... there is just too much that could go wrong, with that many ppl in such a small area, especially over such a conterversial issue such as the olympics.... and with only a 64% yes vote...

Vancity is trying to show the Olympics that we deserve them. And by having a "rave" stage setup, is in my opinion a horrible idea. Mainly because I know that the majority of the kids that will show up will be either drinking, smoking pot, or will be generally stupid....

Just look back @ the last two Dayglows.... If any of you were there you'd know what I'm talking about ~

Beside we have sooooo much more to offer to the olympics...

We are just playing some beats at Bluenotes... no stage... just some decks and speakers and some friends having a good time!
