DJ Contest - Open to all.....
Alright calling all DJ's and electronic music lovers,
H2O Productions will be holding a dj competition in the coming months....This competition will be different from others in that the djs who participate will have no knowledge of the records they will play..sort of...each dj will get a 15 minute grace period to check through the stack of records provided....then they will have to perform in front of a crowd of people at a nightclub, as well as a panal of judges. There will be a black box at every night and in it will be two or more different genres in the box, there will be enough records for any dj to spin a full set with of each genre. The DJ can chose to spin 1 or all the availaable genres this is where you guys get to show off your talent , skill and creativity, and all while showing the crowd who really is the most versitile DJ in Vancouver. The genres covered will be Drum-n-Bass/jungle ,Trance, Breaks, Techno, and House. No one will know which genres will be out for each night. Now the incentive for all you Dj's is this, the winner will get to keep all records used for the competition...approx 300-400 records.....Now we are still in the early stages of plannining this event, and what we need to know is how many of you dj's out there feel confident in your skills, and are willing show it off, anyone who wants to be a judge/DJ or want to help out with this event please PM me or email me at [email protected] Check back for more details......and thanks Last edited by Mr.Sinister; Jun 16, 03 at 11:08 PM.

hey guys thanks for being the first to step up...I think this has the potential to be big, and the more dj's we get interested the better....so what are the rest of you waitin for???????

great idea, but what about hip hop as a genre as well?
it is the music that started this dj thing afterall.

yes i know hip hop is a genre, but this is intended for electronica...sorry to any hip hop fans, but i will see if there is a demand for hip hop we will do our best to accomodate...

now this sounds like my kind of contest ... no editing or polishing a mix CD, no pre planned set , just pure raw mixing skill, only those with a true knack for the art will survive this contest ... it sounds like a very good idea and i'm totally down :smoke1:

Now thats what i like to see, so far so good, i love seeing so many responses already....you guys who have posted or emailed are all in, and i want this to be huge, the more djs the more it'll mean when someone wins......

I know a few of you have pm'd me and left msg's on the board, but because of the interest showed anyone who hasn't actually e-mailed me, could you e-mail me, with you dj name and real name. It will help me keep all the contestants organized.
