Thank-you so much for your patience on this everyone... the truth of the matter is that we had a last minute headliner change from Armand van Helden to who you see headling the house room now... as you're about to notice, this post will contain a lot of information. - I will break it down section by section for you, so please read everything carefully as their is a lot of important info! From the first Spooky till now, this annual gala of freaks and electronica continues to be one of Vancouver's best and biggest Halloween events. Over the past years, this gathering of ghouls and ghosts has been celebrated in venues like the Plaza of Nations and the PNE Coliseum... but... this year, prepare yourself for something new, something MASSIVE and something truly spectacular... A legal and completely INDOOR venue fit to hold crowd of more than 10,000 people - The Chilliwack Heritage Park. The name Spooky stands for guaranteed quality and fun for the masses, a party like non-other, and now in a venue like non-other. Don't miss out on this legendary event... The Spooky shuttle runs all night long starting at 8PM on the 31st and each bus will be leaving from the SCOOT ROAD SKYTRAIN STATION every 15-20 minutes. Since making his major DJ debut at UK superclub Passion when he was installed as monthly resident alongside Armin Van Buuren and Guy Ornadel, his DJ profile has rapidly risen to a similar level. Taking in dates at the likes of Godskitchen, Global Gathering 2003, Wemf 2002, Slinky, Passion, Progress and Golden amongst others, and is commiting to even more International dates in the 2nd half of 2003.Lange and Pulser’s debut dance show Musicology started strongly in June, with an eager audience of almost 6,000 tuning in.  RANK 1, UK - www.rank-1.com/transverydigitaldiscom/ - Playing for 2 hours In 1997 Piet meets Benno de Goeij at a party and they discuss their passion for music all night long. Benno has no experience at all in producing, but he has a perfect ear for good melodies, due to his classical musical background by playing the piano and the keyboard. They decide to cooperate and the first releases as Pedro & Benno soon follow. Their records are put on the decks by numerous DJ’s and they are asked for remixes by Jean, Ferry Corsten and Cyngus X. But it is their own ‘Airwave’, the theme of Innercity Hollands biggest indoor danceparty, that puts Rank 1 really in the spotlights. Their remix of Cyngus X’s ‘Superstring’ was last years Sensation theme. ‘Such as life’ the Sensation 2001 anthem, was released in July and climbed the charts with the speed of light. When it comes to interviews, Rank 1 is mostly reluctant to get into details. They rather let their music speak for itself, since they consider themselves as ordinary guys. This is all the more reason we look forward to having them grace Spooky’s stage this year for the first time ever!  THE THRILLSEEKERS, UK - http://www.thethrillseekers.co.uk/ - Playing for 2 hours Steve Helstrip has been at the very forefront of the trance scene for over 5 years now. From his 2003 Hydra project and recent Ferry Corsten collaboration ‘Sublime’, back to the legendary “Synaesthesia”, he has produced a powerhouse of hugely emotive, moving music. Steve started out making trance music while working for the computer games developer, Manic Media. Whilst living in Chipping Norton, on the Oxfordshire border, with a relatively basic home studio he constructed the milestone that is ‘Synaesthesia’. Signed and released by Neo Records at the height of the 1998 trance boom, it went on to sell over 12,000 copies on its initial UK release. Following ‘Synaesthesia’ came ‘Dreaming of you’ which was released on the Ministry of Sound’s Data label and in the UK alone, featured on 14 compilations last year. Steve’s remix career pretty much started on the day ‘Synaesthesia’ was promoed. Since then he has revamped, remapped and reshaped in excess of thirty other artists tracks, all of which he has lent them his awesome melodic, electronic touch. Lets welcome Steve in his first ever Vancouver appearance! He started his career as a DJ at the age of 15 and in 1987, he bought the first of his recording equipment and started to produce his own music. Having produced well over 100 records under several names and on numerous labels, he needs no introduction. You asked for him, we responded so we hope you are ready for a dose of funky, stompin disco house to shake your ass and soothe your soul at a venue fit to host it! He's carving quite a niche in the breaks scene with his remix work as well, with artists such as Adam Freeland & Freddy Fresh dropping his tracks in their DJ sets. Boundries are not something that concerns this artist, so keep your ears & minds wide open for the Incredible Melting Man's future releases.  MATT THE ALIEN, WHISTLER - 1.5 hours Matt the Alien started playing records on his brother’s 1200’s at the age of 15. His unique and innovative style was developed working at his family’s record shop in Bury near Manchester opened by his dad at 4 years of age. Surrounded by a fresh selection of new and old vinyl, Mat’s style was fed by an eclectic blend of beats. A move to Whistler, B.C. in 1995 found him inspired by his surroundings but lacking a nearby record store, Mat concentrated on honing his DJ skills and making mix tapes. Notorious for his seamless cuts, effortless scratching and distinctive selection, Mat has played with the likes of Afrikaa Bambaata, Del the Herbalizer, Roots Manuva, The Allies - DJ Craze, The Rascalz, Bad Company, Rahzel, Q Bert and many others. WE (VANCOUVER) GOT A NEW VENUE FOLKS!!! thanks to the hard work of Swing Kids and Twisted. I can't wait for the many many awsome shows this huge venue will produce Lets party responsibly so we don't get any bad press in the local papers out there! oh and sick line up to AGROout

DLO 604 - As I mentioned briefly in my opening paragraph, it was originally Armand van Helden. Unfortunately, he turned down both our booking and some other bookings across Canada so we know it definitely wasn't the money. He is wanting to be with his family so unfortunately after much negotiation, turned down our offer. Having said that, we booked Olav which we know is a totally different class/kind of DJ but we have NO DOUBT that he will live up to his rep at being one of the best Funky House DJ's in the world.

Producer/Remixer: Lange originally from Shrewsbury, UK has been Producing and Remixing Dance music professionally since signing to Additive records in October 1997. After his first release 'The Root of Unhappiness'/'Obsession', he began his Remixing career which has gained him massive acclaim.
Lange's first major success came in the form of DJ Sakin's 'Protect Your Mind', which Lange Remixed into a huge club track that reached No.4 in the UK sales Chart. Other remix credits include Lost Witness 'Happiness happening' (No.18 UK), Ian Van Dahl?s ?Reason? & ?Will I?, and tracks by Sash, The Pet Shop Boys, Faithless, Agnelli & Nelson, Ruff Driverz and Japan?s huge star, Ayumi Hamasaki. Lange's own solo career has continued to build with the release of the club anthem 'I Believe' in 1999 and the Positiva release 'Follow Me', which was heavily featured in the Harry Enfield & Kathy Burke film 'Kevin & Perry Go Large'. The previous Lange single (featuring Vocalist 'Skye') 'Drifting Away' was released on VC Recordings in Jan 2002 and entered the UK Sales Charts at NO.9. Lange, together with Skye peformed the single on ?Top Of The Pops? and the ?Pepsi Chart Show?. His latest single, ?Don?t think it (Feel it)? will be released this year on Nebula Records (Virgin). Other projects include SuReal 'You Take My Breath Away' which reached No. 15 in the UK sales Chart in September 2000, and the compilation 'Tranceformer 2000' which Lange DJ-mixed together with Mauro Picotto. DJ: Lange plays at some of the UK?s biggest clubs including ?GODSKITCHEN?, ?SLINKY?, (Bournemouth & Bristol), ?PASSION?, ?GOLDEN?, ?PEACH? (Camden Palace, London) ?THE ESCAPE? (Swansea),?PROGRESS?, and ?HEAVEN? (London). In addition, he regularly tours internationally taking his sounds all over the World. Recent trips include a 10 day tour of Australia & New Zealand (Sep 2002), WEMF Festival 2002 (Canada), Sweden & Denmark (Oct 2002), and dates in USA, Japan, and Finland. Lange will be touring Australia & New Zealand again in 2003 (March & September) together with dates in USA and across Europe.
