Originally a trained classical percussionist, Sharaz found himself as a DJ merely by accident. Looking for an interesting hobby to keep him busy, he took up the career of producing in 1997. Peppering his live appearances with live percussion makes SHARAZ unique amongst his peers. His remixes are numerous, including projects for Tommy Boy, Afrika Bambaataa, Diana Fox, Echosphere, Marradonna, Robin Fox, Bass Mechanic, and many others. A veteran of the Toronto party scene, DJ Slide was playing the infamous Syrous mega-raves at the young age of 15. Nearly a decade later he has played around the world from Los Angeles to London, England and runs record labels Vinyl Syndicate, Orion & Future Sound Recordings pumping out homegrown drum & bass with long-time associate DJ Slip.
