Hey all! I'm new to the lower mainland. Callin sketchy New West home right now. :S

I just moved from Kelowna, and anyone on here from Kelowna likely knows who I am since I've been neck deep in electronic music for many many moons!!

I haven't really found the niche of music I like in Vancouver yet so I'm lookin to meet new people and go to new parties. I love funky house, funky/dirty/dark/heavy/WHOOOOOMMMMMMPPPPING breaks, reggae, etc. I'm one of the original (and biggest) Bassnectar fans from back half a decade ago. I LOVE dressin up for parties in costume or in style. :nuts: And dancing?? Well that's instinct I like to act on freqently and with utmost satisfaction. 8)

I is missin my Kelowna Crew!!!

Prozac: I've seen you around (if that's you in your avatar)! :) I live right by the New West Sky Train station...it's pretty sketchy. Not quite like the notorious Hastings and Main area though. Haha!

n00b lol. I guess any part of a city is sketchy when you're from a small town. :cheesy: It would make sense you've seen me @ that station, next time say hi instead of being a lurky stalker.

^ I think it's sketchy here - lotsa crackheads...for example; West Van isn't sketchy. It's really nice over there!! I have a friend who lives a block off of Hastings and Main (on Main and Powell), and I've been visiting over there for several years, so I'm used to the sketchiness...it doesn't bother me unless it's dark out and my dog isn't with me (she's a Pit/Boxer). But I still think it's at least a bit sketchy around the New West ST station... :oh:

I don't think I've seen you at the ST station...I think I've seen you at parties over the years...?

People in the cities are so odd...I smile and say hi to passers by and they give me an odd look like I'm the weirdo!! Haha! :S

Yeah, most people are prone to the : "Don't meet their eye, and you don't have to acknowledge they exist" phenomena. No on really knows what causes it, but the closest thing to a cure has been a random smile.

Don't stress too much...people see so many others in a day, its just numbing, i guess.

LOL, no, it's more like "I'm tired and I have to be nice to people all day so I just want to listen to my headphones and walk/skytrain home in peace, not interact with strangers."

Hahaha!! That's exactly it! I'm starting to fall into it too. It's almost like you get lazy on being friendly. I'm a super friendly person, with a tendency to be shy at times. So I try real hard to be as outgoing and friendly as I can because I find myself surrounded by a greater abundance of positive people. :D
