Hello! Moving to Vancouver Aug. 30 from Montreal

Hello!

I will be moving to Vancouver at the end of the month from Montreal. Has always been something I wanted to do for a while and now I am able to!

Have been out west numerous times and last time I was there briefly checked out the nightlife there (Lotus which was nice Jay Tripwire dropped a dope set)

So I am just looking for a little help with a few things

First: Tattoo artists in the area, one of my friends was telling me there were some world class artists out there. As I am looking forward to getting a new one out there. Looking for artists who excel in doing portraits and all that jazz.

Second: Looking for any quality spots that would play deep house with a soulful edge to it :) Would be nice to come across a place like that.

Lotus is always good times. Long Weekend parties are also especially dope there.

Welcome to Van. Our rock and minimal scenes are nowhere near Montreal's, but apparently our Dubstep scene is top in Canada.

Lotus definitely for more of a Deep sound. Also check out The Red Room.

Tunnel on Saturday (night is called Lifted) focuses on Soulful and Funky House.

Gorg-o-mish afterhours on Granville/Smithe St. plays some wicked deep house. Check it out after a weekend evening, 3am+ .. Not the cheapest but a nice spot to burn the early morning hours if your tanks full of gas. Enjoy Vancouver.

I got the fuck out of montreal (born and raised)because of the politic's there... Trust me you wouldn't like it...

Born in Ottawa

Been living in Montreal for 21 years

the nightlife is nice here, all of the current hot spots for house music is now in the old montreal area

stereo montreal has been victim of a fire (luckily no one was in there when it happened) their currently working on renovations, insurance claims, and investigations

stereobar is beside it and still open

the weather here has been brutal, we seem to be the only city not affected by global warming :P only about one or two hot days the rest has been cloudy, rain and more clouds

plus last winter was hella brutal the worst we have seen since the early 70s

the last two summers have been preety dismal, im looking forward to some mild winters over there! :) and i have heard the weather in BC has been a scorcher which is good cause i like warm weather :)

I read about Stereo, my heart cried. I still have a few of their flyers from the first year. Does that mean that Circus is the only after in the city?

I know is very brutal! Specially since it happened a month before I was to make my debut in the main room! YIKES!
