lifes rough.. The suns shining and its 25C at 9am. Just about to head off to the main strip with a few m8s from the hostel to engage in nothing but sleeping in the sun. Tonite we're going to shenningans, yes shawn there is a hostel/bar called that. *tear* I'l send some photos. Just found this section so i'll update this thread instead of a drunken hey you like i usually do. I'm off for suntanning

Right on Cairns. I've been there! :)
Hmm...I'm trying to remember the name of this bar that i went too that was pretty good. I forget what it's called O'Doolens or something maybe. It's on the corner in that little square they got there with the bandstand. The food took a long time to come, but it was good when they got it. Do they still have all that construction going on the boardwalk by the Lagoon? (which if you haven't checked out, you should!).

When were you there?
I think the waterpark was done when i was there....or maybe i'm just thinking of the actual lagooon. There was construction they were doing on the boardwalk to the far left of the lagoon, when the bay curves up and away from the lagoon area.

Well pretend your standing at the lagoon facing the ocean. And then there's that big board walk that goes along the lagoon and then curves around the bay on the left and goes up past all those hotels and restaurants and stuff. That part was under construction. They were cleaning out the bay of some of the gross stuff that was in there and making it bigger or something. It's not really a nice ocean if you want to swim in it, i think they were tryng to make it better.

Got drunk a whole bunch of times, made some really good friends at the hostel i'm staying at. Consumed 2l of wint within 80 minuetes before heading to Sohos(nightclub) the other night, went to bar to buy my m8 Alex a beer and he was gone.. found him 3 hours later (at the hostel) with a bigger eye then Justins at "just giver" (last yr... in white rock). He's a mess. Got jumped on the main espalande. 2 guys knocked him out from behind and repeated to kick him in the face. The police ran in and chased the guys off but it was unprovoced jumpinh.. didn' even take his wallet. Took him to the hospital, they called in an eye specialist..woke up at 8:30am in the main reception still drunk and very confused. Alex took some photos, i'll have ot send.. SAVAGE.. and hes going to press charges and hopefully sue these bastards. There could be permanent eye sight problems. Fished yesterday on the main docks for 3 hours in the most intense rainstorm ever. Right Proper! Caught us some fish that were delicous. My goal is NOT to drink tonite. Free booze has been offered. Pete tong is next sunday.. doubt i can make it I'll update some photso tomorrow.

I was in Carins Aug-Sept 02... definently some stupid construction... the locals would allways joke about the city trying to build a beach (cus no turist belives its the ony city on teh coast without one) Aparently one of those cyclons would wash it away when the rainy season comes...

Woah..
Another bender last night. My mate just went down to the bottle shop to grab 60 beer so i'm about to get back on the beer train that hasn't stopped for 4 days. I'm still in cairns and loving it. Getting to know the locals and everyone at the hostel really well. Making some really good friends w/ some crazy memories. I finally found work at teh woolshed. No, its not a knitting sheep wool its a club/bar. 20-30 hours a week, its not too shabby. We always end up there after clubbing as its a all backpackers. I also landed a sweet job in Palm cove (about 30 minutes north of cairns). I'm working in the restaurant and its mega pimped. Too many stories and memories, truely wish some of you guys were here. Sniff sniff. I'm glad to see fnk hasn't changed a bit.. long disgusting signatures with different fonts and sizes, promoter scams, and the classic "official last post, i'm leaving fnk" But these are the days of our lives and here i am, just typing away.. Rydogs in Las Vegas? Mad props.. all i can picture is cocaine and hoes.. Really hard to picture ryan at a slot machine.out!
