beware of internet cafes overseas

so i arrive in bangkok last week and email my parents that im ok and everything is and stuff cool right??

well the next day i find out that a virus scaned my e-mail contact list and sent out a phoney email stating that i was in a thai prison for herion possesion and prostituion charges and that through email was my only means of comunincation...

heh, i had emails from friends saying that they contacted the canadian embassy and filed a reprot,called my rents,called my work,set up a case file with canada corrections...the works!

fucking bangkok.

ha, no jenna its not worng that you laughed...it is kinda funny. but its a pain fending off concernd emails frm friends and family....and the canadain consulate who tracked me down at my guest house.....thats was fked..

mojo, yeah this happen while i was on the kao san....my least favirot part of my trip so far. right now im in chaing mai a northern thai province wich is much more scerene and clear.....

Oh of course! And I probably wouldn't be laughing if I was one of the people that received an email like that. And it would be VERY different if you actually were in a thai prison, obviously. And its sure a waste of time and money for the canadian consulate etc, that aspect of it is not funny.

The fact that the prostitution charges were thrown in there is what gave me a good chuckle.

for 10 months my sister used different internet cafes all over europe, australia and thailand and never had any problems like that.
