Well, since Amsterdam is in the Netherlands, and it is one of the most expensive cities in Europe, I would suggest you to spend a couple of days in Amsterdam, because it is a must ( visit the Van Gogh museum, the Rjiks Museum, the Amsterdam Arena, the Dampkring Coffeeshop, the Central Station and the Dam Square and the Red light district. But it is an expensive city, so if you wanna stay in the Netherlands for some more, I recommend you to move to another city. Maastricht is very nice and not as expensive.
I have only been to Barcelona in Spain, so I can´t tell you alot about the rest of Spain, but one backpacker from Nanaimo stayed at my place in Italy and he said Madrid was also very nice.
I have never been to Portugal, but I heard Lissabon is very nice.
Athens is a beautiful city, but it is going to be very hot there.... ( especially after June). Cheap and fun places.... Well, you gotta move to Eastern Europe. Prague is a beautiful city, many sights, very cheap flights to there and very very cheap alcohol and other things.Or Berlin in Germany is also rather cheap and is one of the best cities for clubbing and going out. Croatia is very nice and cheap in the summer. Italy is also beautiful, Rome has some of the most beautiful sights. Milan does as well, but is has become very very expensive lately. Paris is the best place to go as a couple... ( I don´t know if you are going as a couple... )
Well, if you have any specific questions, I can help you out mostly with Italy..... But also Amsterdam is one of my favorite cities!
Enjoy your trip!!

In Greece - do not miss out on going to the Islands. Santorini was like heaven to me :) Calm, peaceful, so amazing and fun! I didn't get a chance to travel too much in Greece but I would have loved to.

If you are in Italy at all, try to make it to Pompeii.

If you are over that way - Prague is supposed to be a great place to go!

Also, in Italy I loved Venice, Rome and Vatican City - they are all very beautiful in their own ways :)

Out of the places you listed I have only been to greece. I would go to the islands if I were you. Even try to get to crete. When I was there I mostly stuck to the north, around corfu and a little town called Parga on the coast. (beautifull but a little off the beaten path.) Athens of course is a must, so much going on. I came in on a flight at 1:00am and it was still like rush hour!

Munich.. it's everything you want out of Amsterdam, but not overwhelmed with other tourists thus the people are friendlier and you'll get a much more genuine vibe. My friend lived in Belgium for a year, and she raved about munich every time I spoke to her

I've been to both Munich and Amsterdam and I say go to both for sure. Very different experiences. You cant really get the whole "coffee shop" experience out of Munich, its pretty crazy being able to sit at a table and order a bag of pot then stroll down the red light district and look at the rows of prostitutes. Its pretty surreal.

Spain- Went to Madrid and Pamplona. Madrid was pretty awesome, would have liked to spend some more time there but we went to Pamplona for the bull run. If you are there for that time, DO IT. Even if you dont want to run with the bulls (its pretty intense, and you can do it relatively "safely") it is the CRAZIEST drunken 24/7 party I've ever been to. No one parties like the crazy spanish people.

Those are my main things... Like someone else mentioned, if you can get to prague it is freaking beautiful and booze is really really cheap. One of the other most beatiful places was belgium which is next to amsterdam, might be worth stopping by if you have time...

Anyway, let me know if you have any questions. Have a blast and dont pass on anything youll regret missing out on! These be the years to be crazy! errr... and be safe.

Ibiza, Spain for the non-stop party atmosphere, along with the largest and craziest clubs in the world, not to mention the countless amount of big name djs.

Bratislava, Slovakia for its beautiful women and their cheap liquor.

Amsterdam, Netherlands for .. well.. I think this ones obvious.
