^ Lesha I just got the FM8....I'm doing a hardcore evaluation of it tonight, I'll post my thought on it tomorrow. Looks cool so far.
But ya, Massive's complete control over its filters, modulation and groove altering makes it even really wicked for cool FX grooves which Im becoming more and more attracted to. Ya, lots of NI stuff is totally class, this definately supports that statement. I'm sure you'd love this program. :) |

Its different....I like it more than Atomsphere simply because I have more control over my sound. I think you'll really get a lot of use out of this program. Before I was using a plug in called "Sculpture" almost exclusively for my FX, and atompsheric pad sounds....Massive has now replaced that. :)

This synth is fucking awesome! Its going to replace the Z3ta as my new favorite. It definatly seems geared towards Dnb production and I find that whenever i start fiddling with it, I almost always generate very dnbish type sounds. The waveshapes, builtin fx and LFO interface make it easy to make good groweling dnb bass.
and Fm8 is great for atmospherics! Check it out if you havent! |

But Massive does sound quite tempting...except for $$$. |

I pay for my software...ya trying to find free software for MAC is like trying to find Jimmy Hoffa in a Hurricane....almost impossible. Ya it sucks that a lot of audio production programs are so expensive, but I guess it all comes down to practibility, some plug ins you need, some are just toys...everyone has their different needs and wants...for me Massive is a combination of both. :)

Ive been testing this one out for the past month, its very indepth, I love how it utilizes the Kore module...
too bad it sucks up intense cpu power. Once I figure out how to use it properly I think I will pick it up, its taken up my time for sure, hella beats using the vanguard as a soft synth. |

Not unless if sound designing isn't your thing....you can create a bunch of your own sounds and FX and what not as well, but unless if you have a library of your own sounds, I can see the frustration for sure...That said there are still enough tools and parameters there to morph something to its desired effect (no pun intended)....But like I've said in other threads, it just totally comes down to personal preferences.

please don't use Vangaurd. Its sound is very thin. |

thin... and its very digital sounding, a very good cheap alternative... but in terms of writing melodies, its very responsive with the right sounds.
I think some of the arp presets disguised over a lead leaves a good warm bassy edge.... coupled with percussion and a bassline.. its very unnoticable. I cant wait to finish up the new tune ive been working on, i love combining sounds :D |
