I haven't tried one as of yet, but I heard it is a very solidly built scratch mixer. Very popular in Europe. While it lacks the bells and whistles that the Vestax PMC-08 has, and is more expensive, it is indeed a really good mixer. Skratchworx gave it a really good review
SKRATCHWORXâ„¢ v2 - Rodec Scratchbox Mixer - by Deft - May 2006 You should also check out the link that the thread maker posted above to check out the features. The curves for the channels and cross are perfect. So if you like to scratch with the upfaders at the top or bottom than this will certainly do it. The crossfader that is used is a custom built Infinium OPTICAL crossfader with tension adjust. The upfaders were made by the same Japanese company that manufactured the Pro X Fade. You also have the option of either upgrading all the faders to Infiniums or to the Profaders. If you don't like either of them than I think it is possible to put in a Pro X Fade or two. There are many possibilites. I also There is also a 3rd channel that can either be used as a mic input or an actual line input. Rather than type out everything, I recommend you check out the scratchworx review for referenece. |

i've always liked the simplicity and effectiveness of scratch mixers but line faders for tone control/EQing seems retarded to me. i also wish more scratch mixers used the cueing layout the SHDJ1200 used instead of the ch1/ch2 line fader and a switch for toggling cue and main outs. i'd really like to try this bad boy out though. it already has a hell of a reputation.

It is not available in Canada yet. But now that our dollar is stronger than ever, ordering from the states isn't such a big deal anymore. I know you can get one from DJ Equipment – Turntables, DJ Packages, CD Players and Mixers at PlanetDJ.com. But MAN is it pricey. I think I'll cop one when I'm done school.
