DC (direct current from the outlet) offset Sometimes the hardware you use to record the audio (sound card, mixer, preamp, etc.) creates a low-frequency, inaudible noise that, when combined with the audio you are recording, causes what is known as DC Offset. This can cause problems when you edit and process the audio. Sound Forge has a process that automatically detects and removes this offset. |

I bet those people at Sony just think of ways to make mixing more difficult than it already is. My mixing is getting a lot better thanks to YouTube. Pretty soon I can leave than DC button on and then see if you can f$#@ with me Sony.

Whenever I get pops in my mixes when I record off Soundforge, usually its because my harddrive is too full. After clearing out some junk and defraging, the mixes turn out fine.
I've left DC Offset on and off for mixes and usually it doesn't make a difference, atleast in my case. |
