I've played on 200's, 800's 1000's and 400's If the jog wheel screws you up! It's because you suck! :P
But seriously The 400's kick ass for the price. They have everything you need and more plus, they come with Pioneer quality! If I was to make a choice between 800's and 400's I would choose the 400's. The only advantage of the larger jog wheel to me is scratching. 400's are fine for basic scratching but for more advance, forget about it. And if scratching is important to you, throw the CDJ's out of the equation and stick to your 1200's. |

Get the most expensive dj gear you can get. There is a reason there is a higher price tag associated with proper gear. We all know the riders at events are going to be the 1000's. They are really expensive, and I can't afford to get them. The next best thing as far as function for mixing and scratching is the 800's. It is pretty much identical, except the 1000's have a setting for a higher resolution of pitch control that no one uses anyways, and extra looping fx, ect.. Don't bother with anything else because if you ever play out it's going to be on 1000's. A simple post search or any kind of memory will lead you to this conclusion. If this was DOA PP would be flamed. I don't want to see another "what cdj should I get" post for a very long time. let's discuss somthing new. Any one tried else tried Gladiator? pretty sweet if you ask me! |

same shit every week? What the fuck are you talking about?
Anyways, the reason I want the cdj's are to get good at the feel of cd's and quite frankly, after 10 years of spinning I can safetly say.. I prefer digital. Just feels good. Plus the added effects will be raped. I'm going with the 400, having an unmatched pair.. meh, not bringing it out anywhere and chances are if I get booked at some place, they'll be using pioneer gear anyways. I have yet to have been at a club that just uses turntables these days. and raves.. who gives a shit about raves anymore? |

are you planing on playing out more? What's wrong with decks if you're using torq?
you could always sell your 800 and go the midi controller route and get an Xponent or a vestax VCI although i wouldn't really recommend it if you're planning on playing out again... |

well, i picked up one 800 yesturday. All i had to do in torq was to switch to CD, done and sounding fantastic!
the effects work, pitch works, effects over effects (With my djm 400) work great. Just picked up the CDJ 400, i cant imagine it'll be any different. |

Also, I'm still completely flabbergasted at why someone would want to use CDJs with Torq/Serato. |
