Ortofon launches Q-bert branded needles!

http://www.ortofon.com/disco/dj.html

Ortofon's latest innovative dj cartridge, designed in conjunction with DJ Q-Bert and Thud Rumble. This cartridge was created for optimal performance across the board and features Ortofon's highest specs for scratching, record wear and output. The design is a combination of two of Ortofon's best cartridges, taking the sound technology from their popular top of the line Nightclub and the performance aspects of the Scratch, while improving on both in certain areas.

To begin with, initial testing shows that the QBert's stick to the groove almost as well as Shure's scratch standard M-447 cartridges- no jumping or skipping even under the most trying circumstances. The resulting effects on record wear remain to be seen, but according to Ortofon, these are their best thus far. The output is also notable, coming in at an amazing 11-12mV, which is the highest of any dj cartridge we carry. And of course they maintain the legendary Ortofon sound quality with a wide frequency response and excellent reproduction of bass, mids, and treble. The QBerts are the first cartridge to excel in all these directions at once, bridging the gap between true scratching ability and professional grade sound quality.

• high-end dj cartridge with an emphasis on scratch ability
• ultimate skip resistance
• highest output of any dj cartridge we carry
• spherical stylus
• 11mV output
• 2.0-4.0g tracking force
• 20-20,000Hz frequency response

watch all the turntablists jump aboard the Ortofon ship now...

Ive always been about the Ortofon nightclubs. They seemed to stick to the record way better than any of my 44-7s did.

These will probably be even better than my nightclubs so I guess Im gonna try these out as Im in need of some new needles now.

i loved my ortofons, but allll of the tips went to shit.... they weren't meant for scratching, but they sounded sooo mint and had wicked tracking. M44-7's for me now, but these new ones look sick

How long have your Nightclubs lasted you Ryan???

damn.. saw this thread hella late.. but i have these needles! --

my review :

tHEY ARE SICK.. i used to use 44-7`s... excellent tracking, sound, anti skip .. however it ate my records.

the Qbert Ortofons which i have now ..are very much the same other then the record damaging....

only other slight difference.. i find the 44-7 to have just a tad better sound quality.

Either way im happy w/ my qberts.. they do the job .. dont skip worth shit.. easy to handle.. + i got a good price on them
