Tech 12 vs Stanton S(TR8)-150

The way I see it, the only thing Technics has on Stanton's 150 is the time proven thing. In every other department, the 150 leaves the Tech 12 in the dust. It's like twice as heavy, has more torque, built like a freakin bomb shelter, and has all the features that a modern vinyl turntable should have at this point. It even has a +-8% pitch setting for all the technics people.

What are your thoughts on this?

will have to check these out. The only problem I have with Stanton is the fact that they discontinue their products year after year.

Yeah... they just replaced their 80/100/120 turntables with those uber geigh looking new models.... They don't seem to have touched the 150 though. If they're at all smart, they won't even think about discontinuing it.

yea the Stantons are really solid and all that, who knows about longevity - and the thing about techs is that you are effectively practicing on the most used tables - odds are you'll run into techs at gigs and venues you play.

i like my techs - though if i were to buy new tables the str8s are tempting.
