hrmm...well i'm not that impressed to be honest...the automatic sampler on the 400 is nice...but is there flexibility on the 800 to add the efx-1000?
I dont know what pioneer thinks its doing with its branding/features of their products...eg: the cdj-800 having loop cutting, and the cdj-1000 not having it. I think they need to consolidate all the fancy shit they got into 1 mixer or provide an fx box that can do everything...instead they've opted to release a bunch of different products (djm-1000/600/400/800, cdj-1000/800/200, efx-1000) to saturate the market with numerous items that all have different features. boooo....will this replace the 600? doubt it...the high end mixer market is too competitive now and ultimately the big room dj's will determine what they want on there riders. |

I wish more companies would make club/scratch mixers like the NUO line of eclers or the Rane Empath... Seems like with the exception of a few models, you can only choose between a 2-channel battle mixer or a multi-channel "mixing-only" mixer these days... |

actually lets go ahead and get into that again, while I think flanger definately falls into this category if you know what you're doing you can do some seriously cool shit with delays/echos/reverb/vocoders/etc.

^Onboard flangers are only for kids because no one has given them proper controls yet. Give it a delay time, feedback, lfo ammount, frequency (with a super wide range) and maybe a 2nd lfo that can control the primary one's frequency, and you would have one versatile effect. Mind you, that many controls would probably confuse the hell out of most DJs.

^^ Agreed. The echo and sampler are the only fx I use on my 600 and they are fun as hell to experiment with. Besides kids don't know how to use half the fx anyway ie, synching them to the beat. They rely too much on the auto bpm counter, which is a nice little added value feature but its not terribly accurate. I wonder if they've improved that on any of these new models.

lots aof people that are constantly around that mixer dont know knwo how to use mest effects properly....its kinda funnny cuz its been around for soo long, oh well
my thoughts on teh 800 are positive, but if i had to choose between that and and eclre.....pioneer would take a fall if i where mixer shopping, but id love to play with one for a while! |

It is with great pleasure that Rane and Serato announce the TTM 57SL, a high performance DJ mixer with Scratch LIVE built in, and much, much more
The TTM 57SL is... - an enhanced TTM 56, plus - Scratch LIVE built in, plus - a control surface, plus - an effects unit, plus - a sampler with foot switch control, plus - a sound card Improvements on the TTM 56 include Internal universal power supply; 3 outputs – XLR, TRS and RCA; 4 inputs, each can be set to line or phono, select from 4 inputs per channel (2 digital, 2 analog); kills on the tone controls; 1/4 and 1/8 inch headphone jacks; mic engage switch – all this with the same magnetic faders (all three), ergonomics and performance as the TTM 56. The control surface on the mixer integrates directly with Scratch LIVE - you can browse your library, load songs, control playback, set and trigger cue points, record and load samples, control effects, set and adjust loops, and much more. The amazing sounding effects run out of the mixer itself, so there is no extra processing load on your computer. You can record your mix while controlling Scratch LIVE with CDs or vinyl. For more info, check out: www.rane.com BTW my pioneer 600 i will be selling away -- anyone interested msg me |

It's my personal goal never to own a pioneer mixer in my life.
Matrix inputs, 'Q' control of the eq bands to easily tune your hi,mid, low to whatever frequencies you want for however you want it to sound and save it to the presets, a way better FX display and fx functionality, low, mid,&hi pass filters, better feeling knobs, mmmmm...
