So I officially killed the sony mdr-v500's.... it broke in an area where its virtually unrepairable.... even though you can glue the plastic together it would keep on breaking. So today I went downtown and went to tom lee on grandville. Tested out multiple headphones.... Including the Denon HPC-1000... Technic's...Pioneer headphones as well as Sennheiser... And then I came across these small little headphones which are the AKG K81. I looked at it and snickered a little bit because I already tried the Sennheiser HD25SP and at first I thought "OK this AKG company is trying to immitate the HD25SP".... Boy was I wrong..... I plugged these headphones into the mixer they have setup and was amazed of the durability and the amount of abuse that these headphones can take. Infact to me these headphones beats the HD25SP by a long shot. My jaw dropped however when I asked what the price was..... $79.00.... . The sony mdr-v500's can't even compete with this and the v500's go for $100.00..... I looked at the structural design of the AKG K81.... So far so good... The hinges are rubber like... no flimsy plastic at the hinges where the v500's are known to break at. These k81's are fuckin LOUD... The guy at tomlee said he has sold alot of them.... infact he only had a display model that he was willing to sell to me for 60 dollars... those headphones has been a demo for 3 weeks however I am having him order me a brand new pair.... So to all you people who get frustrated with your broken sony's however you want something that produces bigger sound but is physically smaller.... Get these headphones.... I can't wait when it gets delivered to me....
