Kama Sutra
The Kama Sutra of Vatsyayana is an extraordinary and fascinating work that deserves careful reading and study. Originated in India, it is essentially a technical guide to sexual enjoyment and other sensual pleasures. It also contains profound historical and anthropological insights into the mores and customs of ancient India. The modern reader will often be surprised by how markedly different the cultural paradigms presented in the Kama Sutra are from those of today.
I was reading a book on it today and it's pretty interesting. Not only is it about different sexual positions but it's also the way you approach a woman/man, how you touch them, how you kiss them, massage techniques, essential oils ect.. anyone here have any experience with kama sutra that they want to share? Or even you know more about it.. :moon: |

I posted this somwhere before: this one time this girl did somthing to me that was amazing. She brushed the back of her hand along my lower back very gently. It did somthing to me it was like tingly and made me shiver in a very very good way. Was it just me? I don't know. Perhaps she studied this Kama Sutra.

Eastern religions stress sexual relations as a manner through which to show devotion to god and to reach higher planes of spiritual existence, whereas western religions treat sex as solely a means of reproductionm as something inherently sinful.
Crazy westerners. |

^^
are you sure you're not extrapolating that from the Puritan/other crazy Christian fundamental beliefs? cuz last I heard, the rapidly changing western world isn't dominated by Christian fundamentalists, let alone religion anymore. --Joanne :P |

tantric sex involves breathing and control to experience not just physical pleasure but something like a higher state of consciousness. The goal is not to reach climax but be able to prolong sex for as long as you want. People that practice tantric sex climax in a way that they are so in control of their bodies, that men for example, can climax and not ejaculate. Tantric sex can last for hours upon hours if done properly and is enlightening. Kama sutra is not a method of sex, but more like instructions on how to have really good sex. Here the focus is on how much pleasure you can give your partner, not how much you can get for yourself. If you take the time to read the kama sutra (the real thing, not the cosmo ads) the information is geared primarily for males to please females. And yes guys there is a large section in there as well for the opposite. there could be more detail...but thats just a brief outline. |

I'm extrapolating that from my knowledge of the three "main" traditional Western religions - Christianity, Judaism, and Muslim, compared to what I've learned of the traditional Eastern religions, particularly Hinduism, Buddhism, and Daoism/Confucianism. |
