^Actually salt isnt "bad" for you, in fact its an important mineral that your body needs. Dr's tell you to avoid salt because the average person already gets enough salt in processed/pre packaged foods. Even than, only a fraction of the population will actually suffer health problems from too much salt, where the rest wont.
At home I make a lot of plain foods and rarely add anything to them, especially meats, vegetables and soups. It wasnt until I started adding just the tiniest bit of salt that I found my self satisfied and ended what ever craving I had after. Not to mention my food didnt taste so bland anymore. Our bodies crave salt for a reason, just dont over do it.
