Yeah, this is why I lasted a total of 10 minutes / 1 joint last time I went (last year).

Made front page of 24hour with a picture of Marc Emery. Apparently some dude ended up jumping on top of a car and beat up the driver when they got out. Way to go, dumbass suburban gangstar. Let's not feed a negative image for stoners or anything.

That's about the time we lasted.. I normally go and jsut chill with friends.. but it totally didnt have that vibe this year.
We left to go look at shoes.. then came back to see if it had settled a bit.. not at all.

It was a collection of the most annoying people I have met.

Here's a few tips for people next year:

Store owners don't want you in their store flipping through the magazines.

Teenagers, I don't care if you smoke pot. Nobody does, don't make a big deal about it. To those kids in the A&W. Despite what you quite loudly said amongst each other, everyone in the Restaurant knew you were high.

To the person with the megaphone screaming about how people are oppressed for smoking pot, and calling the cops pigs, think about it for a second. Dumbass

To the cops who had to spend a nice Sunday watching over and babysitting a bunch of idiots who were yelling over megaphones how terrible you, you guys rock. That was a ton of patience I wouldn't have had.

To the group of kids heading to Surrey on the skytrain. Great job knocking over a baby carriage. Good thing the mother was prepared for your stupidity.

Presence of said thugs is exactly why I don't do the Art Gallery protests anymore.

Not about stoners or weed culture as it is about getting fucked up and riled up.

Intelligent protest is by far the better route as opposed to just getting blitzed in public and proving them right every year.

I wanted to check it out. I was there at around 2 in the afternoon. Already it was so packed it was hard to move around. By 4, I didnt even try to go back onto the lawn. The police had shut down the streets around the gallery front lawn, so me and those I was there with stood on the street. Withtin minutes though, even the streets where packed! I bared with it just untill after 4:20, then left.
Was neat to be there during it though!

I didn't even bother heading downtown to this. I didn't feel like smoking up with a bunch of 16yr olds, hippies, wanna be thug and thugettes. I ended up smoking up in COQ (yes, because im that gnagsterous) and went out for a nice quiet dinner then treked it home, watched a movie and called it a night.

i was on the skytrain on the way back with all the fucking kiddie stoners. (I got high on whales and dolphins imax 3D thank you very much). I'm not a pot smoker by any regular means, but if the skytrain ride home was an accurate representation of the rest of the people at the art gallery, I don't think I'd ever consider heading there.

I actually saw this happen. Poor guy got knocked out because some asshole decided to leave Surrey.
