yeah we smoke weed all the time. my dad is a herbal doctor and believes that weed can cure all, so if i have a caugh he says 'son smoke a joint', if my back hurts, he says 'son smoke a joint', even if i let a little yelp out, he says 'son smoke a joint'

Point taken. But still, my point still stands as well. Something tells me that these highly intelligent men that you listed didnt use pot as a way to get "fucked up". I dont think most 40+ year olds who smoke pot recoginze it's potential as an intellectual stimulant as the people you listed did. I dont see any reason why using pot for this purpose is pathetic, but i think you will agree with me when i say that maybe less than 2% of people use pot as an intellectual enhancement. If you read my last post, i corrected myself and said that i thought it was pathetic when 50 year olds are sitting around by themselves and getting fucked up all the time.

As far as your last point goes, i think anybody has the right to smoke pot or drink as much alcohol as they please, including eldery people. Still, that doesnt mean that it's not pathetic. I honestly believe there's a problem if someone hasn't taught themselves how to relax on their own during their 50 years of existence.

See there is that awful word again you’re tying into smoking pot. Do you understand that with age comes wisdom, therefore most +40 aged adults I have have had the pleasure to meet who still casually light up, do so only with small ("pinner") joints. Also most times only to enjoy two/three tokes before outting it for later. Don’t build on this idea 'stoners are stoners forever' because there is allot more to the cannabis culture then you maybe familiar with.
