Wow wow wow. just because you guys dont know anyone thats OD'd on water does NOT mean it's hard to do.
This is very false. If you are a small person, weighing less than 120 lbs its a lot easier than you think. It may not be easy to happen if you are not sweating a lot, but if you are sweating a lot your body looses A LOT of salt and your cells absorb to much water. I personaly know someone that DID consume too much water at Doomsnight and was HOSPITALIZED from it. They could have experianced permanent brain damage if they didnt go to the hospital to have the electrolytes balanced in their blood again. Dont take this as a rumor it can and does happen FREQUENTLY. eat salty foods when you rave, and/or try to drink a few sports drinks like poweraid. Believe it or not I find taking a salt tab before, during and after raving to compleatly eliminate the hangover associated with popping. Give it a try and see for yourself. Stay safe. I usually try to drink poweraid before raving, cuz i did know that a salt definciency can happen when you are sweating... but thats not really the same thing as ODing on water, I would think... I suppose I could be wrong tho, thanks for the info... always good to be prepared...

I actually heard somewhere that 5-htp is better post rave because some
in the medical community think that pre rave 5-htp can lead to seretonin syndrome. Also alpha lipoic acid is an excellent anti-oxident because it's fat and water soluable. I take it pre and post Rave. |

from experience:

Hah, what a good one that was! Seriously though, in junior high I was told that "Drinking as little as a bottle cap full of liquid Ecstasy can kill you!". Looking back, there are many very obvious things wrong with this statement, but at the time I believed it. |

I heard that if you do E, you'll hug everyone, put on candy bracelets and dance to pretty much any beat you hear! Ya that's just plain silly.......urban legends.
I also heard that doing E makes people go to raves......or wait, going to raves makes people do E. One or the other, I forget! |

its an excellent practice to take 5-HTP and VIT-C before and after popping. Its believed that 5-HTP limits the negative effects of mdma on the brain because it builds up your serotonin reserves... and as we all know mdma causes these to be depleated... so the general idea is more water in the tank to be drained = less chance of runnign out of water.
5-HTP defiantly will mellow out your high... but a word of caution here, 5-HTP is commonly used as a sleep aid. If you take too much before you pop you will be preaty drowsy. I usually take 200mg 5-HTP before popping and 1000 mg Vit-C. And the same after I get home. I know we all discount Vit-C as a regular everyday thing, but this is even mroe important than the 5-Htp. Its been shown in many many studies that anti-oxidants play a huge role in preventing the neurotoxicity of MDMA. The biggest reason that MDMA is blelieved to be toxic to the bain is due to bio-energetic stress in combination with the drug (Dancing, or anything else really physical) this kindda sucks for us ravers because thats what we liek to do on E. An anti oxidant (like Vit-C) will help out your brain quite a bit. Other things like ascorbic acid works excellent as well (and this is usually what they use in clinical studies). Some people were confused about the salt tab thing that I mentioned... athletes take them, they are a mix of salt and potassium.. anyways it helps raise your electrolytes in your blood. The reason people get "water poisoning" is not an actual poisoning from the water per se. Whats happening is when the electrolytes in your blood get too low your cells keep absorbing water past their capacity... its simple bio 12... water passes through membranes (in this case cell wals) from a hypotonic solution to a hypertonic solution to balance out. (same way your kidneys work) anyways the cells keep absorbing water past their physical limits and lyse (rupture). preatymuch when this happens in your brain there are very dire consequences leading to brain damage. Typically yoru cells are not going to rupture, but they will strtch to a point where there is damage. This is the reason you can't put a salt water fish in fresh water. Their cells are use to the salty water... when they are placed in fresh water their cells keep absorbing water untill they rupture = dead fish. Moral of the story dont be a dead fish, take salt tabs, stay safe and feel WAY better the next day. If anyone is really keen on this shit, heres a coupple papers Iv written in school about MDMA. The first one i wrote back in college about how Anti-oxidants have been shown to reduce the negative effects of MDMA, and the 2nd one is more general its just about how MDMA is less harmfull than the media has us believe (and scientific studies backing this claim).
