when i have exams, I quit smoking 2 weeks before. The hardest thing is to fall asleep for me. I study 6-8 hours and then I go to the gym until I feel exhausted. The loss of appetite... hmm, I try to eat very tasty food and food I love, because when I smoke everything is good, so I don´t really care what I am eating. When I don´t smoke I chew more gum, smoke 1 or 2 cigarettes a day ( usually I don´t smoke cigs, but I smoke weed daily.... ) |

Mind you there are the few people that seem to develop iron will after beating an addiction. Quote:

All funny business aside.. the truth is, all of these symptoms are actually from your love of trance. depression/dysphoria, loss of appetite... I get all those every time I hear it. Excess sweating, restlessness, anxiety. . . sounds like one too many trance parties to me. |

for the pot withdrawl symptoms- they dont last too long. best way to kick a habit is to replace it with something else. Quitting smoking weed 3 yrs ago was one of the best things I did. fuck that stuff made my memory go bye bye.
the only probs i had were falling asleep. |

Or there's somethign wrong with the weed you're smokin'... Marijuana should've be addictive like cigarettes, you're just addicted to the idea of having a joint to relieve your stress or whatever. For myself, I have a rule that I don't blaze unless I have somebody to blaze with. This way I smoke a lot less, and if I really want to stop doing it, I just don't hang out with my blazing buddies. |

Good weed is more addictive than shitty weed because it has a higher concentration of THC. its the ammount one uses it that is the main factor in marijuana addiction. Once a person begins using it daily, which most often happens after the person has already started using the drug by themselves, it will become addictive. Its just chemistry yo For instance, I can go days without cigarettes, but you dont wanna catch me on a day that i havent smoked any herb. for serious. |

The problem is that any research that would be done on the subject would have to be correlational for ethical reasons (you can't really do a double-blind experiment and make half your subjects start smoking) and the problem with a correlational study is you can't exactly make very many claims on causality... |
