Marijuana withdrawals

How do you cope ?

I find that I do get a withdrawal syndrome, mainly restlessness and also fatigue, depression, anxiety, loss of appetite, excess sweating and general dysphoria.

what your body is doing is craving a downer... so fuck with it's head, and take copious amounts of uppers. everything will balance out in the end.

I can go a long time without smoking weed if I need to, I guess it has to do with your personality.. I don't smoke ciggs, so I dont have a craving for anything really.

I wonder if smokers are more likely to get addicted to other things then non smokers are..

when i have exams, I quit smoking 2 weeks before. The hardest thing is to fall asleep for me. I study 6-8 hours and then I go to the gym until I feel exhausted. The loss of appetite... hmm, I try to eat very tasty food and food I love, because when I smoke everything is good, so I don´t really care what I am eating.
When I don´t smoke I chew more gum, smoke 1 or 2 cigarettes a day ( usually I don´t smoke cigs, but I smoke weed daily.... )

it's a fact man. Any person who has suffered from, or is suffering from an addiction is more susceptable to becoming addicted to something again.

Mind you there are the few people that seem to develop iron will after beating an addiction.

All funny business aside.. the truth is, all of these symptoms are actually from your love of trance.

depression/dysphoria, loss of appetite... I get all those every time I hear it.

Excess sweating, restlessness, anxiety. . . sounds like one too many trance parties to me.

for the pot withdrawl symptoms- they dont last too long. best way to kick a habit is to replace it with something else. Quitting smoking weed 3 yrs ago was one of the best things I did. fuck that stuff made my memory go bye bye.

the only probs i had were falling asleep.

my biggest problem when i quit is i cant sleep, like at all. the longest i went was 3 weeks, people said the sleep thing would go away but it didnt. The trick for that i think is to find way to tire yourself out nartually.. run around the block or something..keep busy doing other things..

stretching works too.. hold each stretch for at least 30 seconds.. same routine you did every day in Phys.Ed.

You'll sleep like a fucking baby

Diagnosis A: Your smoking far too much pot if thats the case.
Diagnosis B: If your not smoking that much at all then maybe your just one of the unfortunate ones born to not smoke pot.
If you can fathom that?!

Most likely.

Or there's somethign wrong with the weed you're smokin'...

Marijuana should've be addictive like cigarettes, you're just addicted to the idea of having a joint to relieve your stress or whatever.

For myself, I have a rule that I don't blaze unless I have somebody to blaze with. This way I smoke a lot less, and if I really want to stop doing it, I just don't hang out with my blazing buddies.

there doesnt have to be anything wrong with the weed.
Good weed is more addictive than shitty weed because it has a higher concentration of THC.

its the ammount one uses it that is the main factor in marijuana addiction.

Once a person begins using it daily, which most often happens after the person has already started using the drug by themselves, it will become addictive. Its just chemistry yo

For instance, I can go days without cigarettes, but you dont wanna catch me on a day that i havent smoked any herb. for serious.

My guess is yes, they do, but my guess is also that it has little to do with the fact that they smoke and more to do with their personality/lifestyle.

The problem is that any research that would be done on the subject would have to be correlational for ethical reasons (you can't really do a double-blind experiment and make half your subjects start smoking) and the problem with a correlational study is you can't exactly make very many claims on causality...
