I don't think people should have to pay crazy prices for their grad dress, like some one mentioned above, it's only a one time thing. My mom was more into grad than I was and she kept pressuring me to buy an expense and nice dress. I REFUSED but I gave in cuz she kept nagging at me. I hate formal occasions, and I hate not liking what I'm wearing. If I had a choice? I would've gone in an all black straight dress that had a lil bit of a yoko-twist in it. I really regret not having done it *my* way. I took my dress off half way through the night and slipped into my black more casual dress, and felt better about myself. my mom bitched me out for it, but I say *it's YOUR FAULT FOR NOT LISTENING TO ME* dammit.
Wear what *you* want to wear, as much as you think that any one cares about the way you're gonna look, in fact, asides from your mother and your girl friends, and perhaps your date, people won't. They'll be too absorbed in their own hair and makeup throughout the night.
Go to West 4th, there's a nice dress shop there, and you'll find dresses that no one else would have... they're fancy though. YECK!
