I got my dress last year from a place in Metrotown. I 4get what it is called but, I'll get back 2 ya on that. It's a good place 2 get 1 from cuz they only bring in 3 of the same dress in a small, medium and large so, most likely no one would have the same dress. But yeah I'll try 2 figure out the name 4 ya. :D

places to shop... damn i need to know this too. im pretty sure im either gettin my dress made by my old ballet dressmaker or even rent from a place. my grad dress....teheheh lets just say i wanna go all out.. im gettin my hair braided for sure.. and i want a princess dress~ yay. |

My mom made mine...by the time of grad though I wish it was totally different. It was light blue and totally flowed out at the bottom with little straps. I WISH it was straight black with a loooww back and silver diamondy straps hehe. I wanna get asked by someone this year so I can go again! hahah

oh i totally forgot where i got mine ... but i got mine in metro i was kinda scared to get mine in the mall thinking that some one else could have it ... it nice going to a place that has a book where you sign your name and school so no one can buy the same dress well at least from that store. But i noticed that alot of stores only carry one dress in one size just to make ppl happy .
Oh u girls will have so much fun ... i know i did , i just went all out on this pink dress and for me that is insane b/c ppl that know me know that isn't a colour that i usually wear. Yeah i say have fun and go all out on it ... mmm puffy dresses are the best |

I got mine from Venus and Mars, also in Gastown. They have a lot of medieval style stuff, but they also have some less cheesy nicer dresses as well. I got this gorgeous ivory coloured velvet dress with this weird vine material for straps. It was neato.
They take down your name and school there, so nobody will get the same one as you (to some people, it's important..) the problems with going to le chateau or zara is that you're likely to find someone else with the same dress. The place I went to also did free alterations, which was good for me because my body is oddly shapen, so it made the fit peeerfect. Two years ago I paid $360 for it, it's probably more expensive there now. good luck! M |

heehee that was cute "its one of my favorite things".
Do you have any pictures of your grad dress Caitlin? It sounds so beautiful. Thats such a good idea. My grad dress was a beautiful light green, vintage gown from the 50's. It was only 50 bux! I think i spent more on makeup and accesories than i did the actual dress. NOBODY wore anything close to what I was wearing. So if you wanted to go the very original way, check out some second hand stores like value vintage (I dont really reccomend this for the dresses, most of what they had were in bad shape and twice the price of dresses anywhere else, but you might get lucky), pin up vintage, deluxe junk etc. Making your own, or getting someone to make it is a good idea too. I'm going to make mine this year. And if I have enough time I'll make other girls too, it's a great way to make a few extra bucks :P |
