Breakbeats being a large genre of music has many different styles. There are really complex breaks with different Effects, Drum Patterns, Pads, Etc. and There are plain breaks with not alot of body to them.

The same is to be said about Drum N Bass.

and the same is to be said about House music.

A house record could be more complex then a breaks record true?

What house lacks in drum patterns it makes up everywhere else.

House as an entire genre is driven by samples and 4/4 beat patterns. There is nothing complex are exciting about that at all. Its one of the simplest of all time signatures (the other being 2/4). The entire melodies, basslines, etc are all driven around the same boring rhythm.

This is why breaks and dnb are much more interesting and complex. They are in the same time signature but are not limited by the same kick and snare 808 patterns used numerous times, or some snipped out chorus ripped from some 70's tune.

House does not make up for what its "lacking" in the melody (i assume this is what u meant when u said "everywhere else")

Its the simplicity of house that makes it appealing to people and the familiarity and catchy hooks and samples.

not its composition. its composition is simple.
