Wanted: Job In Music!!
Okay so....I really need a job.....but I'm really really picky and all I want to do is work with music....so if anyone knows of any jobs in the rekkid stores or in anyplace that is musically oriented please let me know....I'll be more than gratefull. I do have a LOT of musical knowledge seeing as I've been mixing, scratching and producing for about 4 years dedicatedly now and have been exposed to the "electronic music" scene (if you will) for about 8-9 years. So any help will be very much appreciated. Peace.

producing for 4 years eh? thats about the right time frame for your name to get out in some of the smaller labels and store here around town. ive been dooin this for about 3 years and am the same age as you....and things are now finally starting to move. baby steps though. baby steps.
you say you want to ' work ' in music but what exactly are you hoping to get out of it? try some volunteer work with NMW. that put me lights years ahead. gives a good glimpse of how things really are.and belive me,there not all there cracked up to be.

house is soo fuckin repetitive it's insane. drumnbass is too, but not to the annoying extent, where you have a two word phrase repeated for 15 minutes. "party people! party people! party people! party people! party people!" funky house is hella fun to dance to, but breaks and dnb are SOOOO much more interesting to listen to.

It isnt they arent comparable if you said matt tell me how Progressive house is more complex then Jump up I coudl tell you easily but House as a whole isnt.
Just like how you could tell me UK breaks are more complex then Speedgarage (a form of house)

Breakbeats being a large genre of music has many different styles. There are really complex breaks with different Effects, Drum Patterns, Pads, Etc. and There are plain breaks with not alot of body to them. The same is to be said about Drum N Bass. and the same is to be said about House music. A house record could be more complex then a breaks record true? What house lacks in drum patterns it makes up everywhere else. UNLESS WE ARE COMPARING SPECIFIC TRACKS TO SPECIFIC TRACKS BREAKS ETC. ARE NOT MORE COMPLEX THEN HOUSE. IF WE ARE TALKING DRUM PATTERNS THEN IM SURE BREAKS AND DNB WIN.
