think you'd like to make $20/hour to start, with lots of overtime?
how about clearing $60,000, with little or no experience? All you need is ambition/motivation, and reliability. they would prefer any kind of heavy equipment or construction experience, but are willing to take anyone. One of the guys I work with was a cook before this.
It's it's an underground mining site, just up in north van, where we're driving a shaft down to about 800 feet, then bringing in tunnel boring machines to make two tunnels to transport water from the cleveland damn to a new treatment station in the same site. If you can handle construction, you can handle this. Besides, mining is booming right now, and the age of the average worker is coming up to retirement age, meaninig there's a stupid amount of money to be made in mining over the next few years. This kind of experience could set you up nicely for the next 10-20 years. it's 20 bucks and change an hour, 8 days on, 4 days off, 12 hours a day, rotating day/night shifts. it ends up in each shift being 48 hours regular time, and 48 hours double time. They also train everyone on almost every piece of heavy equipment on site. This job is a fairly big commitement, but it will pay off, and nobody who work full time gets 4 days off for 8 days work. got questions? post here. serious about giving me a resume? contact me on msn at [email protected] |

first of all, the black lung is assosciated strictly with coal mining....I worked in a coal mine, and yeah, it would suck, and would be so easy to get. My job, it would be called silicosis, because its shards of silicate minerals cutting your lungs.....and you don't get it it you wear the supplied safety gear when there's a risk of high dust. To do anything else would be stupid, especially sincethey supply such good full face respirators. Hey, like I shoulda said, this job isn't for everyone.....I shoulda said no softies, but that's implied by the job description. and besides no softies, the only people who would succeed here are adventurous, risk taking, slightly crazy individuals.
as for danger pay, well, I've had that....it doesn't increase your pay that much. I make more just as a wage. Besides, the best thing about this job is the willingness to train inexperienced employees, yet still pay better than any 'no experience necessary' job. and bassdrum, since these people would basicaly be representing me if i handed in a resume,I would have to meet them first. They could find out on their own the where, the company and such, but I can't have people I've never met giving me resumes. NO offence. |
