As some of you may know, Pacific and I have been planning to release some old drum & bass tracks of ours on MP3 for some time, due to the many requests we've had to somehow to release specific older tracks. So, we've put together some of the tunes that didn't make their way to a vinyl release and have decided to let them off for dirt cheap! These are all 320kbps MP3's available for $1.99 USD each, payment accepted through Paypal. alllllright.... ran into some server issues, but i've just registered a host which will be much faster, more reliable, and gives us heaps more space for these tunes..
so, everything should be back up and running later today. i put a temporary page up because otherwise people might try to buy the mp3's, then find the links to the mp3's invalid... not good! i will post again when everything is resolved. we will also be adding more tunes in the next few days, so watch this space ;)

i don't really see any reason to release in wav format.. 320 is good enough and wav would just mean bigger files to transfer
as for new tunes - oddmud and i will be releasing tracks by other artists with Influenza and (sometimes) Psidream remixes on Epidemic (www.epidemicrecordings.com) in mp3 format. aside from that, just random old back catalogue things that we keep finding the further we dig

For instance Tippermusic.net lets you choose from uncompressed wav, FLAC, MP3 at 192 and 320kbs. Anyway I guess it all depends on if these tracks are meant to be listened to or played in dj sets through cdr or another medium using mp3s. I know theres a lot of diehard digital djs who won't play anything compressed and I know theres a lot of djs who could care less about anything over 192kbs. Anyways you're the prodcuer and obviously know a shitload more about the sound quality of mp3s etc. I'm probably miseducated and if thats the case than please do educate!

they're meant for both listening and dj'ing.
the quality difference between 192 and 320 is enough that adding like 5-6mb extra onto someone's download is probably not going to cause any issues. offering wav's however, would add another 50mb or so on. from what i've observed, this is the standard format and bitrate compression in which to offer mp3's online. no clue what FLAC is - so i haven't looked into it. if it becomes as standard as mp3, i will. any dj's who refuse to play anything that is not in wav format are really doing nothing more than limiting their selection in a major way. honestly, in the club, or in a mix, or whatever, people are not going to notice the difference in quality between 320 mp3 and wav. FLAC stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec. FLAC is a popular free audio compression codec that is lossless. Unlike lossy codecs such as Vorbis, MP3 and AAC, it does not remove any information from the audio stream and is suitable both for everyday playback and for archiving audio collections. The FLAC format is currently well supported by many software audio products, and is the only free lossless audio compression format that has any hardware support.
