Bus Driver Sent Letter For Challenging Pickpocket
Bus driver sent letter for challenging pickpocket
September 16, 2006 VANCOUVER - A Lower Mainland bus driver has been sent a disciplinary letter three weeks after stopping a pickpocket from stealing an elderly woman's wallet. John Bonnes says he noticed the man watching the two ladies as they prepared to leave the bus. He says he followed the man from the bus and the man threw the wallet down. Bonnes picked it up and gave to the lady who was going into the bank. The union that represents transit workers says he should be applauded instead of being criticized. Meanwhile, the driver has been told he has to go through "corrective coaching." ----- I don't know why employers are cracking down on good samaritan acts by employees. You'd think acts like this call for celebration and good publicity...employers just don't see it that way. |
