So tomorrow first thing Brinks Home security is coming in to wire the whole place up..I was dumb and did not have any insurance..so it may as well be a loss...as far as evidence is concerned...they attempted to steal my prized bottle of czech beer...and they left their finger prints on it..so the investigator took it to richmond to get the prints analyzed. Thanks for the support guys :) All I know is that I am just keeping my attitude on the positive side of things and hope things work out...btw..anyone have a TI-83 graphing calculator they might want to sell? I am screwed for stats without it :(

I'm with Neoh on this one. If you catch a thief, put a bullet in his head.

Whenever I hear of something like this I tell people this story, because it sucks so bad it makes you feel better for about 30 seconds.

I spent 2005 travelling around Australia. My boyfriend at the time and I bought a stationwagon and a tent and drove all over the country. One morning we climbed out of the tent to find the doors to the car open.

Now, understand that absolutely everything we owned was in that car...it was our house. That morning it was empty.

they took:
-all my money (in my purse, stupidly)

-my digital camera along with all the photos

-my new (to me) canon manual camera, with lenses, filters, film, etc

-my large backpack and 2 smaller backpacks including: all my shoes, all my makeup, all my jewellery, all the souvenirs and gifts I had bought (including the gorgeous opal earrings I had bought in coober Pedy for my mom's birthday...I hadn't mailed them because I was worried about them getting lost, go figure), all of my clothes

-my lovely $125 Akubra cowboy hat

-Ryan's Mastercard

-Ryan's large backpack

-Ryan's small backpack

-all of Ryan's clothes

-my cellphone

-mysteriously, my knitting

-disturbingly, all my clothes off the clothesline

We were literally left in a foreign country with no money at all, no credit cards, no food, no clothes. All I had were my pajamas, sleeping bag, a pair of jeans, a tshirt and some flipflops. That was it. We had to get jobs in a crab meat processing factory to be able to eat!

So I know it sucks having to replace that stuff, and I know you feel violated, but at least they didn't steal your underwear!

:)

Yeah, it violates privacy for sure. At least I know now what to expect...and well...it could have been worse had I bought more new things...I am happy I buy things from excess cargo too :)

way to stereotype. there's other things in this world to be paranoid of without having to have an addiction to methamphetamines. I've had problems with break ins before. I also have a lot of expensive sound equipment, hundreds of DVDs, cd's, records and personal affects that I dont want some grubby low life to sell on the corner for a nickel bag. I have this kind of security to prevent something like that from happening, and because of my electrical, it has nothing to do with a grow op, and for the record - I don't live in the sticks, I live in the middle of town.

I'd rather have a gun and not use it then need a gun and not have one.
