Campbells soup at hand

I'm kind of on the fence when it comes to these. I really like the tomato one, but I used to make tomato soup and put it in a really big mug and just drink it anyways. Right now Im trying the cream of broccoli, I dont know if I like this soup without crackers. I also dont like drinking and then having to chew cause of the broccoli bits. Anyone else tried these?

Back in the day, I was all about the Vegetable soup. I still have it every here and there, but it's not filling enough. I'm all about the Chunky Soup now. MMM

^ I usually opt for the Campbell's Chunky soups as well, but when you've got a limited amount of time and have to be out the door the Soup At Hand ones are very handy. I've only really tried the cream of brocolli one, and I really like it (it's got a good flavour). :)

I was going to say that these are totally bad for you because the sodium content is extremely high- good thinking charlycakes!

Anyways, I read this article in Harper's magazine way back about how this product really says a lot about how society has progressed and how it values convenience over actual good taste, etc.

I'm personally more of a fan of really enjoying and savoring my soup, it's nice to slowly enjoy it bowl and spoon steez and let it slowly warm my body up and nourish me. I'm totally creeped out by those things.

If you're looking for some ok soups that are convenient, try Campbell's Gardenay as well, those tetra paks can keep for a few days in the fridge once they are opened, some of their ones are really good and relatively low in fat and lower in sodium.

Folks, take a closer look at the label....

MONOSODIUM GLUTUMATE!

Knorr, Liptons, Campbell's, No-Name, etc....

If it's instant, it contains MSG.

NOT good for humans.

AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.

!!!

Just thought y'all might want to know.

Frosty
(creates itchiness from the INSIDE)

^ not all of them do.. but most. it depends more on the flavour.

the same way a lot of chips have it in them as well.

i can't really eat MSG, as it makes me feel really sick and gives me a headache, so i always look out for that on labels (i am a full on label reader).

but it could've changed.. i haven't eaten any soup for a loooong time.

but MSG aside, things like the campbells chunky soups (regardless of flavour) are all ridiculously high in sodium.

oh, and same goes for any broth you make from powder, or buy. chicken, beef, vegetarian.. whatever. they're even worse than the soups with their sodium content.

My dad is the same way with msg. Whenever he eats something with it he gets allergic and gets nausea. I remember we went and ate at some old italian restaurant on st johns in port moody wehn i was playing hockey.

and he got sick during the game because in the pasta he ate. the sauce had alot of msg in it.

and you want sodium or mass amounts of salt. Liptons chicken noodle. The one with the really thin noodles.
