Very important Simple 9 info - VENUE CHANGE
Admins - I know this is "promo related" but with 4 days till the show and the urgency of getting this info out, I hope you don't mind me posting here.
VERY IMPORTANT SIMPLE UPDATE - VENUE CHANGE Late last week Twisted received final word from the City of Richmond that they do not have enough policing resources available for our Simple 9 show scheduled for this coming Saturday, November 18th. This came as a shock to us as all paperwork, work permits and the necessary legal documents were received by and sent in for approval by the City of Richmond almost two months ago. As a result, we pursued all legal means at our disposal and even through our lawyers, took it all the way to the Mayor of Richmond who sympathized with our situation. But unfortunately without adequate available policing on that date, he stated that the show cannot happen at Riverside. We would like to emphasize the fact that we were NOT given enough LEGAL NOTICE according to Richmond's own rave by-laws, and we are deeply upset that the city broke it's own rules at our expense. In hearing that, Twisted worked very hard to keep this “signature” show going and in working with the Maritime Labour Center, the City of Vancouver has graciously allowed us to move the entire show there on very short notice. We know this isn’t everyone’s venue of choice (we share some of those concerns) – we were very much looking forward to once again throwing a show at Riverside (it’s been ages), but we thought that moving the show to this venue would be far better than cancelling things all together. We understand that some people have already purchased tickets with the understanding the show would be at Riverside and so we appreciate that to the few of you that want refunds, you can certainly obtain those from the point of purchase (Clubzone.com) included but note: this must be done BEFORE 9AM on the Saturday morning of the event (November 18th, 2006). – This is due to the now very limited capacity of Maritime and our need to plan ticket sales accordingly as this event WILL SELL OUT. We at Twisted would like to stress that despite facing major losses on moving the show, that we will not shy away from any expense in making this show as memorable as any Simple of the past, and are extremely excited to see two of the industry's giants, Lisa Lashes and Johan Gielen, perform in such an intimate venue. Be sure that this party will go off!!! Thanks for your understanding and continued support. Twisted Productions |

this honestly doesn't come to a shock to me. the city of richmond (city hall) and richmond police is nothing but a bunch of scum and have a total power trip. I mean realistically what other events are planned on the same date of simple? I don't see any sporting events or concerts or any events being scheduled at that time that would require policing. Sucks ass for twisted to be in this situation... This will not suprise me if richmond pulls the same shit when freeze come's .

Hi peeps... of course you are all entitled to your own opinions about the MLC -- I share some if not a lot of them.... But please don't mention what I already know!
To further, I really have to thank the MLC and the City of Vancouver for responding so quickly and approving our permit application over the past couple of days. We are going to do everything we can to make the party as memorable as possible and in this case, help you forget where it's being held at and more so to show case the serious talent booked for it. |
