water isn't usually boiled for making coffee, it's just hot...and not for five minutes, that's for sure.

I know it really sucks, we're not serving up the regular free coffee at work today and a lot of people in the office are going buck. haha.

Good thing I drink tea, I'm just microwaving bottled water to help me get by haha.

I'm interested to see how the city plans on responding to this should this be expected to be the same for the next few days, a lot of places are all out of bottled water..

yeah, I go into the coffee shop this morning - sorry, no coffee. I almost called into work "sorry, can't make it, no coffee"

Even though I saw the advisory on the news this morning, I only noticed them talk about Vancouver & surrounding areas, not here in Nanaimo.

We had to do huge shipments of flashlights, batteries & emergency candles out to Port Alberni yesterday, apparently they were pretty much underwater.

Mine is too and I am on the north shore. It's all people who are supplied by the Seymour and capilano resevoirs

Instant Coffee then? at least the water is boiled...

And not to sound like a dork but if we can't use our dishwashers either right cuz its not boiled water its just hot?

Yeah I heard this morning the ban now only applies to vancouver, north van and burnaby...but I live close enough to the burnaby border that I'm not chancing it.

starbucks/blenz in north van weren't making drinks this morning..but they started again at around 1-2 ish..don't know how safe that is!

its kinda sad to see how unprepared we are for things like this..we haven't even been hit with a mild natural disaster. :(

i live in surrey and haven't noticed any difference in the look of my water.

i didnt drink it except for when i drank tea but of course i boiled it.

I just open my mouth outside and collect rain water. much easier than boiling.

I work at starbucks and I called them this morning and they said that even after they sanitized stuff in the dishwasher they had to dip it in a sink of sanitizer after to kill any bacteria. It gets pretty hot but i guess not hot enough

lol yesterday my boss went to get some bottled water for our house, he said it was ridiculous, people were like stocking up with multiple flats and elbowing eachother for it and shit. I'd hate to see us dealing with a natural disaster.

And you know, brushing your teeth/washing your face with bottled water is a pain in the arse. We sure do take crystal-clear running tap water for granted.

Water ban has finally been lifted. Make sure to run all sinks for 3 mins to filter out the existing water in your pipes. :)
