haiti is not palestine, palestine is not iraq, iraq is not afghanistan but you paint them all in the same light with no regard for the "nuances" as well as the very significant differences in history, culture, language and society between them. You are exactly like the preacher who paints all gays as evil, the general who paints all taliban as murderers, and the trade leader who points at all of the 'wealthy' as expoliters. you think in black and white terms, and it is people like that who are humanity's greatest enemies. you are too ideological, you do not think, you quote from verbatim what lenin says but you do not understand what he is saying. when i correct you you say i am quoting from a text book, but the reality is i didnt read from a textbook beyond my second year of university. fable, it becomes more and more apparent to me that you derive a significant portion of your self worth from your activism. show me reliable proof of your claims and i might believe you, but i checked up on your life expectancy, infrastuture developement calims regarding aghanistan and out of the 3 quick samples i took from non-american sources, well, your claims were all wrong. i also treat your anecodatl claims as suspect because it appears to me to be of lessor quality then the claims made by some what reliable canadian news sources about the violence epidemic in toronto when in actuality the level of violent crimes are 1//3 of wehat they were 15 years ago. p.s. if you went to university instead of smoking base you might actually be able to think critically. What is the significance of differentiating Palestine from Haiti in terms of building, and propaganda work? If one doesn’t involve themselves intimately with organizing and building, then how does one make a claim that I, or anyone else is only quoting such figures as Lenin? Lenin’s greatest contribution was his ability to be both visionary and pragmatic, always making sure that his decisions were based in current objective conditions and its relationship with the lessons learned from the past, and the foresight for the future. I have never once heard you talk about anything in terms of developing strategy, or testing strategy, but rather you are more than able to fence with facts and abstract dialogue. What is your purpose? Do you have one? University has nothing to do with thinking critically; it has to do with developing professionals and robots. However I spent a total of six years in post secondary education which I believed was more a roadblock that a catalyst. Ultimately the question that arises consistently when you speak is what are you trying to say, why, and for what purpose? Being a walking, talking CIA world fact book is insignificant if only for being a walking stats sheet. |

1.) Criminal law, culinary red seal, graphic design- business management certificate had less importance to me as a means to develop a personal reputation but far more in relation to gaining access to a vast pool of radicalized youth from a large spectrum of different communities . The majority of these students were taking on a significant loan to perpetuate their post secondary education, and came from significantly poor backgrounds. (UBC, SFU are completely different stories) 2. ) Instead of turning this into a battle of footnotes, and a credibility hype show, share the statistic/facts/ anecdotes that you find relevant on Afghanistan/the larger picture. 3.) On the level of education, the political basis and 'line' I support is better articulated in http://www.firethistime.net where nation specific stats, and assessments are found 4.) the preceding information in itself is nothing more than education and reinforcement of awareness building. This is different from propaganda work and unity/movement building. I could write all day about the differences in Palestine and Haiti - most of it being obvious, but in the context of building unity, and reinforcing a specific struggle, what benefits are there to differentiate and ultimately isolating similar struggle and different front? 5.) Less reference pimping and more reference to reality 6.) Informing the public about statistics, facts and objective conditions is different from using information and objective conditions to get people involved in social justice work. That being said, most of my prose is dedicated to agitate, and propagate, vs. building myself up to be an expert, which in reality anyone with a computer, access to the internet, and a library card could claim to be, and hence why I constantly critique dialogue on a simply intellectual level. BUT... The question of Afghanistan always boils down to one thing; is the collective objective conditions of regular Afghan people better today than it was five years ago? |
