Anyone know any proper legal places to get any?

We plan on blowing shit up on NYE.

as far as I know fireworks are only legal during halloween here.

Just find the nearest indian roadside fireworks place. I could swear I seen one on one of the many reserve portions of Chilliwack.

There is a store that opens up for halloween and for the christmas season in Chilliwack, usually in a little store near Petcetera. They have a wicked selection of fireworks, and if you ask the owner properly sometimes they sell ones that they dont have on display.
