mt. washington is generally the first spot all the water-logged clouds dump their snow on, it's wet wet wet. they may get more snow but you're kidding yourself thinking it's dry. Last edited by mekim; Jan 11, 07 at 01:44 AM. |

just a quick question: does water-logged mean lighter to you? |

lmao I still think you're delusional.
maybe I just haven't had enough experience @ mt washy yet, or maybe everytime I've gone it's just really good. I just notice the temps are usually colder, no rain bs here n' there or fog. Yes I'll agree whissy has better backcountry though. I compared it to big white, everyone knows the pow there is dry. |

Ill have to check out this Mt. Cain place, sounds like a good place to build some backcountry booters. How far north of mt washy? |

Mt. Cain is 1 1/2 hrs north of Campbell River - sooo.. roughly 2 hrs PAST Mt. Washington.. The road up is super sketchy, and I recommend taking the bus that leaves the base at 8:30am instead of driving up (unless someone's got a suitable 4wd)
I actually drove the bus up there last season (free pass, went every weekend) Here's the kicker though - Mt. Cain boasts TWO t-bars.. that's it -- but don't be fooled -- it is honestly a wicked mountain, as long as you're allll about the backcountry. |
