you've got your cell phone coverage (quad band 850, 900, 1800, 1900) and you've got your VOIP application that may or may not be proprietary (no annoucements this is all speculative but since it's got wifi, VOIP would be a no-brainer).

Quality of audio for cell phone use will depend on how well apple builds it's phone and quality of VOIP would depend on the program.

I'm assuming it'll be like any other smartphone w/ WiFi - you can set internet up to default to a certain access point (i.e. EDGE, GPRS, WiFi hotspots that you frequent) or you can set it to scan and it will give you a list of your set Access Points and WiFi hotspots that are currently available.

The biggest shock to me about this is the fact that it's running OSX embedded! Smart move! Does anyone know what processor it's using? My guess is an Intel PXA or IXP??

Thats exactly what it is. The only difference is this one will probably be the most intuitive to use and it will have the slickest interface. My guess is other smart phone providers are going to be scrambling to try and come up with something similar. Embedded OS X sounds pretty sweet to me.

Really? The ipod is slightly smaller and millions of people carry those around. Business travelers will be all over this, I'd much rather pull this out on a plane to watch a movie than a laptop. I can't think of any other smart phones that offer the same video capability.
