I finally sold my condo!!!

Well it's pretty much a done deal. They saw the place, put down an offer, we negotiated and agreed on a price. They just need to send someone in to check the place for major structural damage and stuff like that, but aside from finding out that my home was built on an ancient Indian burial ground, it's a done deal.

I put my place up for sale at the end of the summer and after all the cleaning and having to air the pot smoke out of the house 24 hours before each viewing, it looks like it's finally over. As it looks, as of March 31st, I'm out of the old and into the new. I'm hoping there will be a pool, hot tub or some ammenities in my new place. The place I'm in now is nice and big, but as amenities go, we have a laundry room and a dumpster for our garbage.

I'm stuck working tonight, but tomorow night I'm gonna get sooooooo drunk to celebrate!!

I plan on staying right in the same neighbourhood (Lougheed mall area). My parents and brother each have a place within a few blocks of me, and since I don't drive, I like being right by a skytrain. I want to move into a place just like the one I'm in, hopefully with some amenities.

The main reason I'm selling is that my place has almost doubled in value since I bought it 2.5 years ago, so I'll be able to pay off my student loan in full, put a down payment on a new place, and still have 30-40K left over to save or spend on Whiskey and NyQuil.

You rent an apartment, you buy a condo. They are the same thing except you own one and rent the other.

It's mostly the sense of not knowing when I'm actually going to move. It was a real pain in the ass, knowing that it may be next week, next month, or next year. But now that I have a date set, I just need to count down the days and start packing.

Now it's time to do some house hunting. However when I put my place up for sale, there were about 25 - 30 places in my neighbourhod that were for sale. Right now there are about 7 or 8 places for sale. I just don't want to have to settle for a mediocre place, because the pickings are slim. Oh well, I've got about 2.5 months till I have to be out of my place, which gives me enough time to do a little shopping around.
