World Of Warcraft - Homophobic?

So, as a little experiment and some good old geek fun we created a “Gay Elf” named Sensual Steve. We Didn’t cross any lines, other then a few funny jokes and hitting on some Blood Elves. One of his “Jokes or Lines” is “don’t you wish your girlfriend was hot like me” – placed by the game its self not me. Some of the people on WOW were fun, and played along…..some got really angry and called us bad names. Very hurtful name…..THEN we got “kicked off” and were forced to change our name….I was wondering if anyone knows if it was just on an RPG server that our name was unacceptable

I guess many people just aren't used to hearing references of homosexuality in their video games.

I could care less what people use as a name during online games.

I know on my CS server, we have kids from all ages playing on it, so we try to keep it clean. So Ive kicked people before for having names that go a little to far.

However, as long as the player is playing nice and isnt being annoying or distrupting others gameplay, who cares!

I bugged to a point, most took it fun, some danced along side....so even confessed life long secrets about being gay! but, most were rude. apprently this is more then just a small issue.
